Je kunt er niet meer omheen: het Coronavirus heeft ons allemaal, de hele wereld in haar greep. In Nederland maar ook in de landen om ons heen zijn de maatregelen flink aangescherpt. Hierdoor zijn al mijn judotrainingen, op advies van de Judobond Nederland, tot en met 31 maart vervallen. De toernooien in Beverwijk en Keulen zijn geannuleerd. De bijeenkomsten voor de opleiding judoleraar A die ik volg, worden uitgesteld. Formule 1 races (mijn andere passie) zijn tot en met eind april geannuleerd.
Bij mijn vader op het werk wordt gevraagd om zoveel mogelijk thuis te werken, communicatie gaat via telefoon of Skype. De situatie is zorgelijk. Het aantal besmettingen in Nederland neemt nog steeds toe. Hopelijk hebben alle genomen maatregelen op korte termijn effect en wordt het daardoor niet zo erg als in Italië. Daar zit de gehele Italiaanse samenleving op slot en mogen mensen één per dag kort naar buiten om een boodschap te doen of medicijnen te halen.
Gelukkig zijn de geluiden uit China, waar het Covid-19 virus voor het eerst is ontdekt, positief. Daar lijkt men het virus onder controle te hebben en neemt het aantal nieuwe besmettingen af. Pas goed op jezelf en elkaar. Hopelijk tot snel!
You can no longer ignore it: the Corona virus has taken control of our lives, in the whole world. In the Netherlands, but also in the countries around us, the measures have been tightened considerably. As a result, on the advice of the Judobond Nederland, all my judo training courses have expired until March 31st. The tournaments in Beverwijk and Cologne have been canceled. The meetings for the Judo Teacher course that I am taking are postponed. Formula 1 races (my other passion) have been canceled until the end of April.
My father employer asked people to work from home as much as possible, communication via telephone or Skype. The situation is worrying. The number of infections in the Netherlands is still increasing. Hopefully, all the measures taken will have an effect in the short term and it will not be as bad as in Italy. The entire Italian society is locked there and people are allowed to go outside once a day to do a shopping or get medicines.
Fortunately, the sounds from China, where the Covid-19 virus was first discovered, are positive. There it seems that the virus is under control and the number of new infections decreases. Take care of yourself and each other. Hopefully see you soon!
